Christine Sculati has over sixteen years of professional experience in the social and environmental sectors. She has a background in project management, development planning, grant writing and green business development. She specializes in working with organizations focused on youth development, community revitalization, economic empowerment, social justice, health advocacy, direct social services and environmental issues.

Since 2001 when she launched her consultancy, she has supported the following organizations (listed alphabetically):

A Safe Place - Domestic violence services, community counseling, and teen violence prevention.
Afghan Coalition – Community-based umbrella organization whose mission is to empower underserved Afghan families, women, and youth living in Southern Alameda County by providing health and social services, advocacy, building community, developing youth leadership, and promoting cross-cultural unity.
Alliance for West Oakland Development - Social and economic justice organization working to develop a thriving mixed-use affordable housing and small business complex in the Mandela Transit Village of West Oakland.
Bay Nature Institute – Publishers of Bay Nature magazine based in Berkeley, California.
Catholic Charities of the East Bay (CCEB) - As one of the East Bay’s largest multi-service agencies, serve over 16,000 poor and vulnerable community members per year, including immigrants and refugees, families and youth and seniors.
CHALK (Communities in Harmony Advocating for Learning and Kids).
City Fields Foundation - Leaders of the Playfields Initiative, a historic public-private park renovation and stewardship project to revitalize deteriorating playfields in San Francisco through 2010. Major partners include the City of San Francisco Recreation and Parks and Neighborhood Parks Council.
Community Health Partnership - Santa Clara County-based organization that advocates for health services access for the medically underserved and encourages prevention and health promotion through service and education.
DJT Consulting - Consulting group that prepares proposals for government agencies.
GOALS for Women - Agency that promotes mental health and economic empowerment and advocacy for underserved African American women in Alameda County.
Headlands Center for the Arts - Artists-in-residency program in Marin County.
International Wildlife Resource Center - Providers of technical assistance and training to wildlife rehabilitators around the world.
Marin Abused Women's Services - Domestic violence services and prevention.
National Park Labs, Golden Gate National Recreation Area (GGNRA) - Interpretive materials and education for youth.
Outward Bound - Nonprofit educational organization that pioneered youth wilderness experiential learning in the United States. In 2008 established a new urban-based Center in San Francisco's Presidio.
Peoples Community Partnership Federal Credit Union - Economic empowerment advocates in Oakland’s low-income neighborhoods.
Rebuilding Together Peninsula - Builds volunteer partnerships to rehabilitate homes and community facilities for low-income, disabled, and elderly community members (formerly called Christmas in April).
Saint Vincent de Paul of Alameda County – Provider of free meals, direct social services, and job training and placement programs for homeless and at-risk men, women, and children.
The Foundation Center - Philanthropy News Digest - weekly news service of philanthropy-related and nonprofit development articles and features.
Turtle Island Films - Producers of the documentary called Quest for Turtle Island.
Zuna Institute - National organization that advocates for the health promotion, civil rights, education and economic empowerment of Black lesbians.

Before establishing her consultancy, for over nine years Christine Sculati developed outreach publications, proposals, and green business solutions for San Francisco Bay Area organizations including the Environmental Protection Agency, Alameda County Recycling Board, City & County of San Francisco, University of California at Berkeley, Oakland Coliseum, Oakland Zoo, Claremont Resort and Spa, Compaq Computers and Peet’s Coffee & Tea. She holds a B.A. from the University of California at Berkeley in environmental science.

Community Service

AnewAmerica - Providing business coaching to new entrepreneurs for this Berkeley agency whose mission is to promote the long-term economic empowerment of new Americans - new citizens, immigrants, and refugees.

Girls on the Run Bay Area: Coached third to fifth grade girls at Fairmount Elementary in San Francisco using an experiential learning-based curriculum designed to promote self-respect, confidence and healthy choices in young girls through non-competitive, running programs.

Randall Museum, San Francisco: As a volunteer docent, give interactive interpretive talks on native California wildlife to diverse school groups.

San Francisco Bicycle Coalition: Assisted with sponsorship development for the annual Winterfest fundraiser and membership celebration.

Bay Nature magazine: Assisted with initial Web site planning for the promotion of this new natural history magazine focused on the San Francisco Bay Area (www.baynature.com).

San Francisco AIDS Foundation: Wrote feature articles for the volunteer newsletter.

La Casa de Las Madres, San Francisco: Answered crisis line calls for victims of domestic violence and conducted intake interviews for the emergency shelter. Completed 40 hour peer counselor training.

CONFENIAE, Ecuador: For this indigenous rights organization, taught Spanish reading and writing to children and English language classes to adults in a village in the Ecuadorian rainforest.

Greenbelt Alliance, San Francisco: Led hikes for the promotion of green space preservation.
