Christine Sculati has over fifteen years of professional experience in the social and environmental sectors. She has a background in project management, nonprofit fundraising, publication writing, Web site building, environmental auditing, and green business development. As a social entrepreneur, her business mission is to support the growth and capacity of community-based nonprofits and progressive businesses. Since 2001 when she launched her consultancy, she has supported the following organizations:
Before establishing her consultancy, for over nine years Christine Sculati developed outreach publications, proposals, and green business solutions for San Francisco Bay Area organizations including the Environmental Protection Agency, Alameda County Recycling Board, City & County of San Francisco, University of California at Berkeley, Oakland Coliseum, Oakland Zoo, Claremont Resort and Spa, Compaq Computers and Peet’s Coffee & Tea. She holds a B.A. from the University of California at Berkeley in Environmental Science.

Philanthropy News Digest - For this publication of The Foundation Center, wrote an article titled The ABCs of Podcasting for The Sustainable Nonprofit column. The article features nonprofits using and experimenting with new web-based technologies, primarily podcasts, to tell stories and broadcast their messages to wider audiences. The article highlights projects of San Francisco Bay Area organizations including KQED, Cal Academy of Sciences, Monterey Bay Aquarium, and the San Francisco Bay Joint Venture. Bay Nature Magazine - Wrote a quarterly column called Ear to the Ground, featuring news from the conservation community and the natural world; published a feature article on the natural history of the native oyster of San Francisco Bay; and wrote book reviews. Terrain Magazine: For this environmental quarterly, performed extensive research and wrote an investigative report that addressed occupational, health and safety issues and the hazards of refineries. Girls on the Run Bay Area: Coach third to fifth grade girls using an experiential learning-based curriculum designed to promote self-respect, confidence and healthy choices in young girls through non-competitive, running programs. Randall Museum, San Francisco: As a volunteer docent, give interactive interpretive talks on native California wildlife to diverse school groups. Bay Nature magazine: Assisted with initial Web site planning for the promotion
of this new natural history magazine focused on the San Francisco Bay Area (www.baynature.com).
