International Rivers

Since 1985, International Rivers has been at the heart of the global struggle to protect rivers and the rights of communities that depend on them. They work with an international network of dam-affected people, grassroots organizations, environmentalists, human rights advocates and others who are committed to stopping destructive river projects and promoting better options.

MY WORK

Development transition consulting:

In 2014 I  supported International Rivers to reach their goals of strengthening the organization’s competitiveness for grants to enhance institutional fundraising efforts. I worked with the organization’s leadership in Berkeley, California, and program staff on three different continents to assess and document relationships, strengths and funding opportunities to serve as an orienting body of knowledge for the organization’s next development director and to catalyze fresh thinking on institutional fundraising.

IMPACT

“Christine is a skilled and experienced development professional who listens to and understands a client’s needs. From an efficient and inquisitive discovery phase with our staff, to providing quality research on development prospects, to producing a high quality, thoughtful, well organized and immediately actionable report, Christine provided great value to our organization and was a pleasure to work with.”
