Youth development and leadership
- Outward Bound - Nonprofit educational organization that pioneered youth wilderness experiential learning in the United States and is expanding its urban-based programming including a Center in San Francisco's Presidio (Read more).
- Fresh Lifelines for Youth (FLY) - Youth advocates and educators working to prevent juvenile crime and incarceration through legal education, mentoring and leadership training.
- CHALK (Communities in Harmony Advocating for Learning and Kids) - San Francisco project providing a range of youth services with a specific focus on transformative youth development and employment.
- Beyond Differences - Nonprofit based in Marin County, California whose mission is to start a national conversation about the issue of social isolation in middle school by engaging and mobilizing teen leaders.
- City Fields Foundation - Leaders of the Playfields Initiative, a historic private-public park renovation and stewardship project in San Francisco whose purpose is to expand outdoor play opportunities for children and youth.
Civic and cultural engagement
- Bay Citizen – Nonprofit news organization founded in 2010 to cover under-reported civic and cultural news topics in the San Francisco Bay Area in partnership with the UC Berkeley School of Journalism, New York Times and local independent publishers (Read more).
- Jewish Community Center of the East Bay - Educational and cultural institution serving as a community gateway for exploring Jewish culture and tradition.
- Headlands Center for the Arts - Artists-in-residency program in Marin County.
Environmental education and nature
- National Park Labs, Golden Gate National Recreation Area (GGNRA) - Interpretive materials and education for youth.
- Bay Nature Institute – Publishers of Bay Nature magazine based in Berkeley, California.
- International Wildlife Resource Center - Providers of technical assistance and training to wildlife rehabilitators.
- Turtle Island Films - Producers of the environmental documentary called Quest for Turtle Island.
- California Invasive Plant Council - Nonprofit whose mission is to protect California's lands and waters from ecologically-damaging invasive plants through science, education and policy.
Multi-service community agencies
- Catholic Charities of the East Bay - Programs and direct services to reduce poverty, prevent community violence and support immigrant integration and well being.
- St. Vincent de Paul of Alameda County - Provider of free meals, job training and placement programs for homeless and at-risk men, women through direct services and social enterprise programs.
Community development and economic empowerment
- Afghan Coalition – Community-based organization whose mission is to empower underserved Afghan families, women and youth and other immigrants and refugees in Northern California (Read more).
- Peoples Community Partnership Federal Credit Union - Economic empowerment advocates in Oakland’s low-income neighborhoods.
- Rebuilding Together Peninsula - Builders of volunteer partnerships to rehabilitate homes and community facilities for low-income, disabled, and elderly community members (formerly called Christmas in April).
Women and girls: Advocacy and violence prevention
- A Safe Place - Domestic violence services, community counseling and teen violence prevention in Oakland.
- Center for Domestic Peace (Marin Abused Women's Services) - Marin County-based agency that mobilizes communities to end domestic violence and create greater safety, justice and equality.
- Zuna Institute - National organization that advocates for the health promotion, civil rights, education and economic empowerment of Black lesbians.

- Blue Avocado – A nonprofit online magazine featuring thought-provoking investigative journalism and practical advice for the staff and volunteers of community nonprofits.

Community health
- UCSF Memory and Aging Center - Regarded as a world leader in the study of neurodegenerative diseases associated with aging, the Center leads cutting edge research while providing high quality care for individuals with cognitive problems and educating the community.
- GOALS for Women - Agency that promotes mental health and economic empowerment for underserved African American women in Alameda County.
- Community Health Partnership - Santa Clara County-based organization that advocates for health services access for the medically underserved.
- St. Joseph's Foundation of San Joaquin - Foundation that raises support for St. Joseph's Medical Center.
